PRICE IS OUT FOR THE SERIES

Montreal Canadiens report that Goalie Carey Price is out for the remainder of the Eastern Conference Finals. Price was injured at 3:15 of the second period in Game 1 when Rangers forward Chris Kreider lost his footing and crashed feet-first into Price.  Price was slow to get up and was wincing in pain, but after talking with the Canadiens trainer he remained in the game. However, he did not play the third period after allowing four goals on 20 shots through 40 minutes, including two goals in the final 61 seconds of the second period. The Montreal Coach contents that while kreider's hit may not have been intentional, he definately didn't do enough to stop it and has a history of 'dirty hits'.

Most likely taking his place will be Peter Budaj. He replaced Price in game 1 and allowed 3 goals in 8 shots. In the regular season he was pretty much 50/50.  He had 20 starts with 10 wins (played in 5 games that he didn't start). His GAA was 2.51 & SV% was .909.

Probable back up is Dustin Tokarski
Originally drafted by the Tampa Bay Lightning but only played 7 games there. He played 3 games in the regular season with Montreal winning 2 of those and losing 1 in a shootout.
